BASIC COMPUTER TRAINING


This course is open to the general public and is designed for the person who knows little or nothing about computers. A College or University background is not required – Just the desire to learn.

Course Outline:

What a computer is and simple computer terms.
Windows 95
Word Processing
Electronic Spread Sheets
Database Management and an introduction to the
       Internet.


WINDOWS 95 – INTRODUCTION

Windows 95 is an operating environment which allows more than one program to be loaded at the same time. Topics include: managing your desktop layout, managing files with explorer, finding data, viewing file contents, using the task bar, exploring some mini-applications supplied with windows, using the windows clipboard to paste information between applications, and using the control panel to customize your screen.
 

MICRO COMPUTERS FOR BUSINESS

Ideal introduction to computers for business people with little or no prior computer experience, using office 97. Students will be presented with an overview of computer terminology and hardware and an introduction to the following software: Windows 95, Spreadsheets, Databases, and Word Processing. 
There are no prerequisites for this course, but keyboarding skills would be an asset.
 

MICROSOFT OFFICE 95 – INTRODUCTION

Covers Word 97, Excel 97, and PowerPoint 97. Prerequisites: Windows 95 – Introduction or experience using  Windows 95 and the mouse.
