DIRECTORS
Jorge Vargas, Executive Director

Jorge Vargas B.Ed., born in Santiago, Chile, graduated with an education degree from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile in 1983. He taught English and Music at different educational institutions in Santiago and conducted choirs for six years before moving to Canada in 1988. In Edmonton, Mr. Vargas worked for Alberta Culture and Multiculturalism for 3 years as a research assistant, and for the Edmonton Public School Board in Continuing Education as a language instructor. As co-founder of Connections Canada Inc. in 1991, Mr. Vargas was instrumental in the development of the company by working in both educational and administrative capacity. Mr. Vargas was also responsible for the International Division. He expanded his expertise in international business with the establishment of a subsidiary company, Connections Canada, Chile, S. A. in Santiago, Chile in 1994.
As co-founder and Director of Connections Canada, Mr. Vargas spearheaded the development of programs, curricula, and staff. As a result, the English Language Program at Connections Canada was first certified by Alberta Advanced Education and Career Development in 1994, and the High School Program was accredited by Alberta Education in April 1996. In 1998 Mr. Vargas and co-founder Jeannette Vargas established Canada College, in Edmonton.

Jeannette Vargas born in Santiago, Chile, graduated with a Secretarial Certificate (with honors) from DUOC Institute from Chile. Mrs. Vargas background is in office management and has more than 12 years experience as  executive secretary and  executive assistant. She worked for eight years in Chile, before moving to Canada. She worked for: Chilectra Housing Development Cooperative Ltd., DUOC Institute, and ENTEL Chile (Telecommunications Company). While in Edmonton, she worked for the Honorary Consul of Chile. As a co-founder and Director of Canada College, Mrs. Vargas is responsible for the development of the Administration Department and Student Services.
